Your Cacao Questions Answered

I’ve noticed a few recurring questions or misconceptions related about the Cacao Ceremony I offer. It occurred to me that it might be helpful for others to hear the answers I’ve offered so here you go!

Cacao beans and powder
I’m concerned that I may feel overwhelmed in this ceremony. Will I be able to modulate my response to Cacao?

The short answer is, “yes and no.” Let me explain.

Drinking Cacao is a mindful meditation act for me. The approach I take when I invite the Plant Spirit Medicine in, is to act as a guide for me and those who partake. Cacao doesn’t take over but instead works with you, where you are, to help open the heart center.

You are able to modulate your experience by coming to it with clear intention and the understanding that you will get what you need, in accordance with what you ask for.

However, as with nearly all things in life, we cannot control or dictate how Cacao will deliver our intentions.

In short, you can control what you ask for but now how it shows up.

Additionally….

I always close the journey with a grounding exercise so that you can leave feeling good, centered and safe for re-entry into the world.

What’s the difference between cocoa and Cacao?

Ceremonial Cacao is different than the cocoa used to produce chocolate. While we enjoy chocolate and it can be a mood lifter, raw cacao is not cut with a lot of fillers and sugar.

Cocoa that is used in producing chocolate is obtained by roasting cacao beans, which significantly reduces the natural health and healing benefits of cacao.

The Cacao used in ceremony is extracted from the cacao bean by a cold pressed process, which yields a much purer byproduct that leaves the plant spirit medicine intact.

I hope that puts a few concerns and misconceptions to rest and you would like to join me for the next ceremony, click here.
