SOLD OUT! I’m humbled and delighted by the overwhelming response. Please drop me a note if you’d like to be added to the wait list.
I offer this ritual every two or three years and the season of Samhain always feels like the right time to do so for a number of reasons:
- As the third harvest of meat preparing for winter it is a sacred way to celebrate and honor the season of death that feeds life.
- The specific date of October 13 is important for me personally. It holds a deep connection to my mother who crossed the veil on this date.
- Also, on October 16, 1997 at dusk, a stag gave it’s life to me on the full moon and became the full moon ritual that night. I saw him as the Horned God sacrificing himself that I might live! That very Samhain I followed up with a ritual to honor the Horned One due to the stag’s message and timing. Ever since, the stag has been a powerful guide to me.
Please read the details about this event below and if you feel called to join me, it will be an honor to share this ritual with you.
What is a Witch’s Drum?
It is a hand-held frame drum that is traditionally used in Shamanic work, such as meditation and journeying. It can also be used in earth-based spiritual practices, healing rituals and a myriad of personal power work; all of which may be done in private or group settings.
What will you experience in this workshop?
In this intimate workshop, of no more than 5 other participants, you will not merely be building a drum. The construction process is also a ritual; a deep and creative journey that begins with guided meditation and continues to unfold as you work with the earth elements of animal skin and wood.
This is a cycle of life ritual. We are honoring life, death and rebirth of animals and trees as we transform the elements used to create the drum into a sacred object that will be used to feed and heal other souls.
Why make a Witch’s Drum?
- The Heart Connection: The first sound we hear is that of a beating heart while in the womb. Ancient tribes understood the power of this connection and began the practice of using drums to connect to the pulse of the Earth Mother, as well as the deepest part of the psyche that remembers the rhythm of the womb where life began.
- Enhanced Magick: The world is full of magnificent drums you could purchase. A ritual tool you build with your own hands and imbue with your life force will render unsurpassed power and magick in whatever way you use it!
- Shamanic Shifts: I have witnessed some profound breakthroughs and deep emotional experiences during this drum-making ritual. I cannot promise the same for you but if you come with an open heart and clear intention, who knows what you might leave with in addition to your drum!
Who is this workshop for?
Adults invested in spiritual growth who want to create a powerful tool for use in group rituals, personal or professional healing work or for the pure joy of creating your own drum through a ritualistic process!
Please realize you will be working with animal skins that emit natural odor, which may be an important consideration when discerning if this workshop is for you.
What to bring:
- Bagged lunch
- Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting messy in
- An open heart
