Witch’s Shamanic Rattle Workshop Ritual

As the third harvest of meat preparing for winter, Autumn is the perfect time to offer workshops for creating personal healing tools. It is a sacred way to celebrate and honor the season of death that feeds life.

Like the Witch’s Drum Workshop Ritual, I only offer the Witch’s Shamanic Rattle Workshop Ritual every two or three years, following a drum-making ritual.

Whether you have made a drum or not, if you feel called to join me for this workshop ritual, you are welcome.

What is a Witch’s Shamanic Rattle?

It is a powerful tool for healing that has a unique ability to cut through energetic chatter.

The rhythmic, soothing rattle sounds shift brain waves into a more sedate and receptive state that quell the nervous system. This opens the mind to a state of receiving that allows shifts in the physical, spirit and emotional body to occur.

It’s very different than drum energy…the rattle accesses the nervous system whereas drumming resonates with the energy of the heart center. When the two are used together, the impact of each is magnified.

As a smudging tool, it is a powerful ally for clearing work and living spaces. It works like an energetic jack hammer to break up stagnant energies that may otherwise be difficult to clear.

What will you experience in this workshop?

You will create a rattle by constructing a rawhide globe infused with gemstone chips and affixed to a handle made of wood (or bone, for an extra charge.)  And you will do so in the context of ritual.

I will lead you on a deep and creative journey that begins with guided meditation and continues to unfold as you work with the earth elements of animal, mineral and wood.

Like the Witches’ drum ritual, this is a cycle of life ritual in which we are honoring life, death and rebirth of animals and trees as we transform the elements used to create the rattle into a sacred object used to feed and heal life.

Why make a Witch’s Rattle?
  • The Inner Child Connection: The first toy given a baby is often a rattle. History suggests the reason was to keep dark spirits away that may harm the baby, such as illness. When we use this sound now, we work with spirit at a level of innocence, like the kind found in a child.
  • Enhanced Magick: A ritual rattle you build with your own hands and imbue with your life force will render unsurpassed power and magick in whatever way you use it!
  • Shamanic Shifts: This is a Shamanic journey in the process of rattle creation. Making a ritual tool brings up process for people. Often rattles are used to call on spirit allies in preparing for healing work. There is a sacred work here that encourages us to witness our thoughts, feelings, resistance and breakthrough.
Who is this workshop for?

Adults invested in spiritual growth who want to create a powerful tool for use in group rituals, personal or professional healing work or for the pure joy of creating your own rattle through a ritualistic process!

Please realize  you will be working with animal skins that emit natural odor, which may be an important consideration when discerning if this workshop is for you.
